Within just three month, the tower was designed by Cui Kai, Fu Xiaoming, Kang Kai and Zhang Junying, architects of the Cui Kai Studioo at the China Design Institute, who won a competition for the project in 2007.
The construction of the transmission tower was completet in July 2008 just befor the start of the Olympic Games. The tower has 4266 sqare meters and is 132 meters high and the tallest building in the whole Olympic Park, making it one of the landmarks in the area. The Beijing Olympic TV Transmission Tower was designed with ArchiCAD.
