London Festival of Architecture provides a Month of Arch-Bliss

London, Festival, LFA
Julia Peyton-Jones, the Serpentine Pavillion’s Commissioner, kicked off the LFA today at the Royal Geographical Society. The festival will last until July 20 and travel throughout London featuring a different location each weekend, with over 600+ events including exhibitions, speakers, performances, tours and lectures by multiple big-name architects.

Various architects, designers, and professors from around the world will be in attendance to create this international event. Highlights include an >>>interactive installation by Foster + Partners, and lectures by David Chipperfield, Daniel Libeskind, Cesar Pelli and Rem Koolhaas along with speakers such as Jon Snow, Loyd Grossman, Mark Wallinger and Janet Street-Porter.

LFA consists of large-scale public events taking place in five major “hubs“ of London. These environments all have their own character ranging from edgy Clerkenwell with its concentrated architect population, to the academic environs of Bloomsbury, to South Kensington known for its science, museums and music.

This is the third event of its kind, and this year the theme of the LFA is “Fresh!“ Organisers are exhorting visitors to take a fresh look at London, to indulge in fresh thinking, to enjoy fresh talent, and the fresh open air. Many events are free and open to all.
