Set in Stone - Real & Imaginary Architecture in London

Five contemporary artists present their interpretations of architecture in an exhibition at the PM Gallery, west London. The artists draw their inspiration from a variety of buildings and created paintings and photography that represents them. The exhibition is running from March 26 to April 26, 2008.

The five contemporary artists that present their works are: Emily Allchurch British artist, who presents a series of lightbox images of imaginary prison buildings that were pieced together from many pictures of real buildings from across Europe. Stephen Carter has examined the detail of London’s Westway with a series of paintings. Michael Durning Makes beautiful paintings of neglected and broken Scottish monuments and buildings. Stefan Hoenerloh Modern German painter, who creates monumental buildings with detailed architectural features, wo that they appear to be photographic or painted from photographs. Ben Johnson Internationally renowned artist who creates large city panoramas, such as those of the cities of Liverpool, Hong Kong, Jerusalem and Zurich.
