MBM Arquitectes designed the ‘Casa dels Xuklis’ in Barcelona. The project is driven by AFANOC and the Private Foundation of Children with Cancer.

The building optimizes functional program at the same time as it focuses on aspects of light, orientation and the quality of the spaces generated. Retaining a telluric presence, the building brings a sense of order to the site and acts as a landmark among surrounding buildings and fields. Including video.

On 16 ‐ 17 October 2010, Barcelona is the latest city to showcase its architecture to the public after becoming part of the hugely successful annual Open House Weekend.The Open House Weekend gives people access to the most innovative, inspiring and engaging examples of a city’s architecture, highlighting the value of good design in creating and sustaining a vibrant city.

The new faculty building for the Luigi Bocconi University in Milan, designed by the Irish practice Grafton Architects, has won the first World Building of the Year Award at the World Architecture Festival in Barcelona. It was selected as from 224 shortlisted buildings and 17 finalists.

Six major European architectural institutions announced the 5th EUROPEAN PRIZE FOR URBAN PUBLIC SPACE for interventions to improve or create public spaces, carried out in European cities in 2006 and 2007. The deadline for submissions of entries is on March 15, the awards taking place in June 2008 in Barcelona.

FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou Stadium, one of the world’s greatest football venues, is to be extensively remodelled. Following an international competition, Foster + Partners have been selected as the architects for this renewal of the stadium, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
