This project deals with the extension and the restructuration of a young workers residence, a 10-levels building made of a concrete structure with overhangs every 2.50m and built in a brutal way in the 1970s on the Fondation Eugene Napoleon domain, a group of Heritage buildings.

Untill 23 December 2010, the Gagosian Gallery in Paris exhibits Jean Prouvé’s prefabricated architectural designs. The exhibition will inaugurate the new project space on the second floor of the gallery.

Dutch architects MVRDV and the French project developer ICADE Promotion have presented their plans for the „Pushed Slab”, a low energy office building to be erected at ZAC Gare de Rungis in the 13th arrondissement of Paris.

Nicolas Sarkozy is walking in the footsteps of Baron Haussmann: Ten teams of architects and planners were invited by the French president in June 2008 to develop a vision for the future for Paris in the year 2030. One of the plans, which can be seen up to November in the "Cité de l’Architecture"exhibition in Paris, comes from Rotterdam architect's office MVRDV.

From the 13th of December until the 17th of January the Architectural Gallery in Paris (La Galerie d’Architecture) will be exhibiting the work of Portuguese architect Gonçalo Byrne.

From the 25th of November until the 15th of March an exhibition in Paris will showcase recent works of Lacaton & Vassal, the winners of the National Grand Prix of Architecture 2008.

3XN has been one of the most internationally renowned and successful Danish architectural offices in recent years. The exhibition at La Galerie d’Architecture in Paris, from September 3rd to September 25th, will allow to discover their work through models, plans and videos.

In August the 2008 Olympic Games are taking place in Peking, followed in 2010 by the World Expo Shanghai. These two cities have undergone an architectural and urban metamorphosis that is unprecedented for its size and timescale.

In the exhibition “Architecture = Sustainable” at the Pavillon d’Arsenal in Paris architects convey their understanding of architecture with an aim to build sustainably by showing projects which are currently ongoing in the Ile-de-France area. Opening is on 23th June 2008 at 7.00 pm.

The Centre Pompidou in Paris is to stage the first ever large-scale exhibition devoted to the work of French architect Dominique Perrault. Starting on June 11 till September 22, 2008, DPA – Dominique Perrault Architects’ work will be presented through models, photographs, drawings and a film by Richard Copans.

The Museum of Finnish Architecture currently presents several exhibitions related to Finnish architecture. In Helsinki and Paris 25 designs of fresh top Finnish architecture are on display from June to September 2008, while the National Building Museum in Washington D.C. shows the work of Eero Saarinen till August 23.

Starting on April 16th 2008, the “Maison de la Culture du Japon” in Paris shows ten years of Japanese architecture in an exhibition called: “Architecture Japonaise 1996-2006, Parallel Nippon”. Works by Tadao Ando, Shigeru Ban and Toyo Ito among others can be viewed here until June 21st.

We are happy that the Eiffel Tower in Paris will keep its original shape and look. After most major media outlets – and we are admittedly included – fell for the hoax that the Eiffel Tower will receive a temporary extension to its top visitor’s platform, plans have now been officially denied.

Did you recognize it? The Eiffel Tower in Paris will change its exterior appearance temporarily by adding a horizontal extension to the top viewing platform. In order to overcome the increased amount of visitors, Parisian-based Serero Architects developed an amazing structure that adds to the famous landmark.

On March 19, 2008 an exhibition on the architectural group Team 10 is opening at the Cité de l’Architecture & du Patrimoine, Palais de Chaillot in Paris. “Team 10 – Une Utopie du Présent (1953-1981)” focuses on the works of Team 10 and l’Atelier de Montrouge, which are still of importance in today's architecture.

The new Citroën showroom designed by Manuelle Gautrand will be at number 42 Champs Elysées; Citroën have owned the site since André Citroën set up shop there in the 1920s. His original showroom was beautiful, the interior was extremely theatrical, and the glass rectangle façade beautifully proportioned, very minimalist and contemporary.
