On January 19, the DETAIL Prize 2011 was presented in Schloss Nymphenburg in Munich during the festive DETAIL Gala. The main prize went to David Chipperfield Architects (Berlin) in collaboration with Julian Harrap (London) for the project Reconstruction of the Neues Museum in Berlin.

On Wednesday the 14th of January the DETAIL Prize was awarded in seven different categories during the DETAIL Gala at the Munich House of Artists. The main prize was won by FAM architectura y urbanismo from Madrid together with Schlaich Bergermann & Partner from Stuttgart for the M-11 Memorial in the centre of Madrid.

Jean Nouvel was announced to be the Pritzker Prize Laureate of 2008. The prize, which includes 100.000 US-Dollars and a bronze medal, is annually awarded by the Hyatt Foundation. The 62 year-old French architect will officially receive the highest architectural honor on June 2nd, 2008 in Washington D.C..

The European Prize for Urban Public Space

Six major European architectural institutions announced the 5th EUROPEAN PRIZE FOR URBAN PUBLIC SPACE for interventions to improve or create public spaces, carried out in European cities in 2006 and 2007. The deadline for submissions of entries is on March 15, the awards taking place in June 2008 in Barcelona.
