Office Building in Munich

documentation    p. 794 - 795
Architect Guggenbichler + Netzer | Netzer-Guggenbichler, Gabriele | Structural Engineer Guggenbichler, Josef | Ingenieurbüro Lettl |

Provisional office accommodation for the municipal works was created in two linear tracts set at a slight angle to each other. The three-storey buildings are designed as two-bay container structures with access from a central reinforced concrete staircase. Open steel stairs at the ends provide alternative escape routes. The industrially produced standardized steel-frame structure was completed on site with small additional elements such as wood skirtings and cover strips. Light-coloured floor finishings help to create a friendly atmosphere. The raised sloping roof and climbing plants up the face will form a thermal buffer zone in summer. The coloration of the façades is based on the official colours of this municipal organization.
