The development comprises ground floor shops, offices on the first floor and a spacious three-storey flat above this. The general living areas are on the second floor, with rooms for individual uses on the floor above. The top storey is reserved for the tea ceremony. The division of the living areas into two zones and the use of dividing elements result in a dynamic sequence of spaces. Internally, the concrete structure is left exposed in part and contrasted with the timber and limestone finishings. The building stands close to a busy road, so that the sound-insulating windows are, for the most part, not openable. Their flat-steel frames are concealed on the inside. On the eastern side of the house, the windows are positioned to allow a view of an old tree.
