The shelter was conceived as a prototype for further models, which can be varied to meet the needs of different situations. The structure consists of a sheet of pre-oxydized (Corten) steel bent to shape and erected like a self-supporting screen. No further surface treatment is necessary. Transparency is achieved by the silhouette forms cut out by laser. The 12 mm thickness of the metal guarantees stability even in the case of large cut-out areas. Sheets of glass, point-fixed to the inner faces, provide protection against wind and rain. The cut-out forms were derived from 19th-century pattern books. The freedom to determine the fragment of the pattern to be used allowed the architects to choose the very essence of arbitrariness, namely ornamentation.
