The “Green Flea”, as this mobile pavilion is known, is 3 ? 7 m on plan and consists of two distinct elements that stand on a steel structure with lifting platforms. During the day, the green timber pavilion is at ground level. Opening flaps on three sides provide a protected area where visitors can obtain information fromstaff. A steel structure weighted with a concrete slab and suspended at a height of 3.60m acts as a counterweight to the kiosk. Atnight, the steel structure is lowered and the kiosk is raised by means of an electric motor and chain pull. The events programme can then be called up in the steel structure on a touch screen as part of an Internet-based multimedia presentation. Images are also projected on the underside of the timber pavilion.
