Surrounded by a large number of new developments in the commercial zone of Riem, Munich, two buildings stand out for their exceptional spatial quality: a printing works, with a facade consisting of vertical glass strips (see Detail 3/2003), and an advertising agency constructed with green-pigmented polished precast concrete elements. The latter has an almost archaic character, and the special surface treatment of the large-scale concrete units lends the structure an unexpected sense of depth.
