All Saints' Court Church in Munich

This neoclassical brick church was built between 1825 and 1837 by Leo von Klenze for King Ludwig I of Bavaria. Heavily damaged during the Second World War, it was not scheduled for reconstruction and suffered further dilapidations in the ensuing years. A new roof was constructed only in 1970. Today, however, after the latest phase of conversion, the building is used for cultural and other events. Additional elements meet strictly functional and technical needs and observe a respectful distance to the historical fabric. The steel spiral staircases, the terrazzo flooring and the plain glass light fittings nevertheless strike a new note, forming a clear contrast to the warm red tone of the brickwork.
