Executed with great commitment and sensibility by the architects Henke and Schreieck, Vienna, the revitalization of the historical substance of the Park Hotel has led to the re-creation of a major work by Lois Welzenbacher. A fascinating new set of relationships – a study in black and white – has been established between the Park Hotel, the former spa building by Hans Illmer (1930) and a new hotel tower, also designed by Henke and Schreieck. The ensemble is well worth seeing and may stimulate new thoughts on form and style.
