The Stability of Hall Structures - Problems and Solutions

Management and authorities suffered a shock in the winter of 2006, when the roof of the Bad Reichenhall Ice Stadium collapsed. Since then, the controlling technical body, TÜV Süd, has been examining various different roof structures. The results are very interesting; vast variations exist, depending upon whether the roof is constructed of timber, concrete or steel.
