Inserted with utmost care in the vaulted spaces of the ministry of commerce and finance in Rome, the centre comprises a library, hallway zone, meeting rooms, a multi-purpose room and the conference room. The library has information counters, a book issue desk and workspaces for employees and researchers. Modular acoustic wall panels, removable ceiling panels, and shutters contribute to the multi-purpose room’s adaptability. The conference room’s wall surfaces are iridescent and sound-absorptive. The interpreter’s cabin appears to hover above the dark seating. In the entrance zone black marble, red-violet carpet, and a variety of lighting effects are the foil to the pared-down wall and ceiling surfaces.
