Brightly coloured, child-friendly ‘spatial decoration’ was developed for the protected building from 1907. The pink stairway and the purple secretary’s office bring the building to life. More neutral white tones are used in the offices and social areas for the teachers as well as the classrooms for the children. Instead, furniture provides the colour, such as a bright green felt pin board that also doubles as a coat rack.
