The article explains the techniques used in the sustainable renovation of school buildings, the majority of which do not use the most up-to-date technology. Objective and subjective evaluations will first determine whether a building is to be renovated. The functional, structural and energetic properties of the building are assessed and the relevant renovation work planned. Functional weaknesses can also be improved, either by adjusting the layout or expanding the building.
