Solar-thermal air conditioning

Research and practice    p. 44 - 48
Author Bernhard Lenz |

Demands for greater thermal comfort coupled with architectural concepts featuring extensive glazing are leading to an increasing requirement for air conditioning in buildings. The use of solar energy is recommended when a significant proportion of the cooling load derives from external (solar) loads. In these cases the times when the cooling demand is at its highest coincides almost exactly with the time of maximum output of the system, which in turn is determined by the level of solar radiation.
