Designed for a motorcycle fan and situated in the centre of Dublin, this single-family house is a modern reply to traditional infill projects and forms a striking contrast to the neighbouring building. The aluminium facade, with its bold horizontal articulation and room-height glazing, gives a foretaste of the interior. On the ground floor is a garage-workshop with a partly covered garden terrace at the rear. The bedrooms are situated on the first floor, while the spacious, loft-like second floor contains the living-dining areas and the kitchen, as well as an outdoor terrace screened by vertical aluminium louvres. All areas of the house are linked by the staircase space, which receives ample daylight through an elongated skylight.
