Green-Building-Auditoren: Ausbildung, Marktchancen und Qualitätskriterien

Specialist information    p. 78 - 80
Author Michael Bauer | Michaela Lambertz | Peter Mösle |

Green building certification schemes, on a national or international basis, are now tackling the job of quantifying sustainability. So far the most commonly used certification schemes are the LEED standard (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) from the US, BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) from Great Britain and the Deutsches Gütesiegel Nachhaltiges Bauen (German Sustainable Building Certification) designed by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (DGNB, German Sustainable Building Council).

Rising global demand for certification schemes has also spawned a new function: that of the green building auditor or assessor. His (or her) job is primarily to assess the ecological and sustainability aspects of buildings and achieve certification. The different certification schemes define differently the training needed to qualify as an auditor.
