A research station in light-weight construction and oases of freedom in overcrowded urban areas: "Microarchitecture" is the topic of the last issue of DETAIL for this year. As is our custom, we reserved Issue Number 12 for our "Special Topic". Small projects of great innovation and with the potential for immense influence are the mainstay of this issue: student projects economically produced using self-construction techniques, and individually variable, mass produced, high-tech buildings.
