The desire of many building owners for elegant, refined building materials often leads to a lack of interest in the use of timber construction elements. This fundamental yet contemporary material enjoys an often mixed relationship with architects. Wooden structures are considered to be inferior as soon as they come in contact with moisture, untreated timber facades are seen by some as mediocre while other colleagues are more than happy to utilise natural wooden surfaces externally.
