Transparent Light Ring

Lighting manufacturer Serien Raumleuchten, based in the German region of Hesse, has added a wall luminaire to its Curling product family. Due to its ring-shaped shade, the Curling Wall version radiates light diffusely to the front without any glare. The special light effect is produced by an opalescent diffuser made of polycarbonate. The light also reflects on a metal surface made of high-gloss polished aluminium inside the luminaire and radiates outwardly through the transparent shade made of either hand-blown or acrylic glass. The integrated 11W LED can be replaced. The newer acrylic glass version of Curling Wall is particularly suitable for heavily frequented areas in public or semi-public spaces or anywhere where breakage ­resistance is important. The wall luminaire is available in two different sizes, and the series includes ceiling and pendant luminaires with the same design. ­ It was designed by company owners Jean-Marc da Costa and Manfred Wolf.
