Cellar Insulation
In order to adequately insulate the basement of a new building in Bielefeld, the client opted for Jackodur Atlas from Jackon Insulation, an EPS insulation system for base plates. Thanks to the slot-in technology, it is according to the company free of thermal bridges. The Atlas formwork element has a 35-mm-thick foam edge, which is cut off after concreting the base plate. In this way, the sealing on the construction site can be carried out in accordance with the prevailing norms, as the front side of the base plate no longer ends with the formwork element after removal of the foam edge. Room-height Jackodur insulation boards with a height of 2.70 m and a width of 600 mm were used to insulate the outer wall of the cellar. The large format also reduces the number of joints and thus the amount of sealing material required.
