Car Park in a Birch-wood Design by Novelis

Pape Architekten from Herford designed the facade using eight geometrically-formed edge parts in four shades of grey and green. The multi-storey car park has been realised in reinforced concrete with a modular system design and a decorative metal pilaster-strip facade. Eight edge-part variants comprising 1.25 mm-thick Novelis coloured aluminium panels in the colours Syracuse grey, Novara grey, ­Natal silver and Satina green-metallic were laid asymmetrically on 4000 m². Even identical edge parts were mounted differently, resulting in a multitude of geometric shapes and patterns. The matt surface of the coil-coated aluminium panels prevents reflections and light reflections in neighbouring buildings. www.novelis.com
