The ETH Zurich Mechanical Engineering Laboratory was built in the 1930s according to a design by Rudolf Otto Salvisberg. Now, the architectural firm Itten+Brechbühl, owned by Salvisberg's heirs, has renovated the hall in accordance with conservation guidelines, winning the Roof category of the Detail Construction Award.
