In 2013 the architects from Wingårdhs designed two eight-storey housing blocks for the housing construction company Folkhem in Sundbyberg, west of Stockholm. As their weight is only about a third that of a similarly sized concrete building, long tension rods were used to anchor the timber buildings in the foundations.
