Wohn_Zimmer in the Sonnwendviertel: this housing complex in the new-build district around Vienna’s new Main Train Station comprises a total of 450 apartments and is connected with the surrounding areas of the city. The distribution of spaces in the individual buildings to designs by Studio Vlay, Karoline Streeruwitz, Riepl Kaufmann Bammer Architektur and Klaus Kada envisages the integration of public and social facilities. The Wohn_Zimmer (literally: living room) has a total gross floor area of 50,700 m2 and was completed in 2014. The planning was the outcome of a developers’ competition and was implemented with win4wien as the client.
