Isabel Abascal, originally from Spain, studied architecture in Madrid, Berlin, and Ahmedabad. Alessandro Arienzo, originally from Mexico, studied in Mexico City, where he and Abascal founded Lanza Atelier in 2015. The practice has realised cultural buildings, housing, and pavilions, designed numerous exhibitions, and developed furniture. In 2023, they received the Emerging Voices Award from the Architectural League of New York.
