Run by only three people, this exclusive wine estate in Fläsch, Switzerland, is a family concern in the truest sense of the term. Situated at the edge of the gently sloping vineyards are three buildings that form a small courtyard. The two single-storey existing structures have been complemented by a new tract two floors in height. A basement with eight broad-headed mushroom columns forms an extension to the fermentation cellar, which is half sunk in the ground. Above this, at courtyard level, is a hall where the grapes are pressed; and at the top, there are stately rooms for tasting the fine wines, with an adjoining roof terrace that affords guests a view over the Rhine valley near Bad Ragaz.
