The tenth Serpentine Pavilion of the annual architectural spectacle in London's Kensington Gardens, which has been held since 2000, was designed by Jean Nouvel as a scarlet stage. The installation, whose colour complements the park's greenery, is situated on the lawn in front of the Serpentine Gallery and consists of a spatial sequence of three elements: firstly, a 12-metre-high and 8-metre-wide polycarbonate wall made of translucent triple-wall sheets in the special colour "traffic red"; secondly, an auditorium and bar spanned by 18-metre-long red steel frames with retractable red awnings; and thirdly, a cube open on three sides, which serves as a stage and projection surface for the "Park Nights" events.
