Openness, communication, and transparency were central to the planning by Zaha Hadid and her partner Patrick Schumacher, who designed their first industrial building with the Leipzig plant. The result is a long, zigzag-shaped structure that, reminiscent of a sperm whale's body, connects the various production areas. Zaha Hadid describes the new BMW building as an expression of the fluid language of her architecture, which harmonizes with the dynamic flows of people and materials embedded in the production process.
