Built in 1907, this school is protected by a conservation order. The architects asked themselves at the outset how children perceive the world and can best participate in it. The outcome of these considerations can be seen in the bold coloration and modular spatial furnishings that set new accents in the post-war extension. To ensure that the children and staff do not get fed up with these features, the classrooms and administrative areas are in a neutral white. Green pinboards in the former also provide cloakroom facilities, thereby removing inflammable clothing from the corridors. These were planned in white, but conservational constraints required the original pastel-green tones of the structure.
