The beautiful location of the brewery warehouse in the heart of Kreuzberg makes this listed building attractive for office use. The architects removed the interior of the existing building and constructed a gallery level. A row of dormer windows permits light to enter from both sides. For the additional floor, the two existing rows of pillars were used as a support for raising the level of the roof along the length of the rear area. The dormer windows, which are hollow, are inserted over these new bars. Externally, the extension is clad with aluminium pipes. Coated in irregularly applied paints, it harmonises with the courtyard, which is dominated by beige brick colours. The water-bearing layer is hidden under the grille.
