Office building in Sydney
Measured against its certification results, 1 Bligh is the most sustainable high-rise office building in Australia to date. It received the highest score in the Australian Green Star system, a 6 star World Leadership Certificate. The new-built designed by Ingenhoven and Architectus is located approximately 500 metres south of Sydney Harbour in a prominent position. Surrounded by far taller buildings, it nevertheless has an unobstructed view of Sydney Cove and Harbour Bridge. Measuring 135 metres, 1 Bligh itself does not really qualify as a skyscraper; the height limitations were imposed to prevent it blocking out the sun from the adjoining open spaces.
