Surrounded by vineyards and olive trees, this housing development for three siblings and their families is situated on the urban periphery of Bullas in the province of Murcia. The climate in this sunny region is characterized by hot summers and cold winters. The architects developed a number of strategies to create an energy-efficient housing group that not only responds to climatic conditions, but that also reflects local building traditions. These measures included the use of solar panels on the south-facing roof areas, the installation of a biomass heating plant and a system for collecting rainwater for use in the gardens.
