This kindergarten south of Vienna stands in a wood of stately chestnut trees. The various sections of the complex, housing the administration, three group rooms and a space for physical activity, are linked by a glazed “street” that broadens at the foyer and affords views out to the garden. The volumes are clad internally and externally with larch boarding. Serving as a multipurpose zone, the foyer can be joined to a group room or to the exercise space, allowing the separation of recreation and learning activities or of organized and free play.
