Object+Product: Daycare Centre of the Lübeck Music and Art School
The new building for the Lübeck Music and Art School's daycare centre is conceived as an urban addition to and continuation of the historic city wall. The design cleverly incorporates the existing wall remnants, integrating them into an elongated, single-storey structure and connecting it to a three-storey head building erected on the site of the historic city gate. Through this concept, developed from the site's history, the architects petersen pörksen partner not only achieve maximum preservation of the view of the city skyline but also maintain the generous green space in front of the building. This approach enabled them to win the preceding expert review process. The building's intricate and vibrant brick facade also establishes a fitting connection to its historical context.
