Object+Product: Residential Building for the IBA Hamburg
The "Smart is Green" project by zillerplus architects from Munich is conceived as a "Case Study House" within the framework of the International Building Exhibition 2013 (IBA) in Hamburg. Due to ongoing structural changes, the city of Hamburg has enormous inner-city development potential – including in the Wilhelmsburg district, located south of the city centre and the core area of this year's IBA. In addition to urban development, the IBA is also increasingly focusing on the ecological and sociological aspects of building. This has resulted in various prototypes for ecological and sustainable housing construction, developed in cooperation with international teams of architects, planners, and investors.
