Parish Hall in Hailfingen

With a population of 1,600, Hailfingen is characterized by its simple rural structures. Linked with the churchyard, the new parish hall has its own large external space. The steeply pitched, plain-tiled roof makes clear reference to the nearby housing, whereas the large openings overlooking the outdoor space and the raking lines of the eaves suggest a special use of the building. Elegant features include rainwater gutters concealed behind eaves fa-scias, and cream-coloured granular rendering with smooth surrounds around the openings. The large central hall, linked with the foyer via movable glazed elements, is at the same level as the external yard. Red linoleum was used to set off the white, plastered interior.
