Object+Product: Administrative Building in Nijverdal

A sailboat instead of a motor yacht – that's what architect Wolfgang Herich and client Solarlux wanted to create with the construction of their new Dutch branch in Nijverdal. Harnessing the power of nature instead of expensively generated energy was the fundamental principle of the design, which is based on an innovative architectural and technical concept. A standout feature is Solarlux's new Co2mfort façade. While many office buildings are often purely functional structures where human and design elements are neglected, the new Solarlux branch prioritizes people and their needs. The new building was designed to meet the desire for light and air, as well as a pleasant indoor climate and, consequently, a comfortable working environment. Closely linked to this was the company's ambition to develop a sustainable building. Its users were intended to be active people in a passive building.
