This riverside retreat consists of a single open space with a small core, containing a kitchen, WC and store. The structure is enclosed on all sides by extensive areas of glazing in slender stainless-steel frames. Sliding doors allow the house to be opened to the outdoor space, while other areas of the glazing are screened by spaced cedar strips to ensure privacy. This simple, timeless building adopts elements from the traditional boat houses and barns of the area and is articulated into three distinct elements: roof, load bearing structure and glazing.
