Bridge over the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal in Regensburg
Access to this pedestrian and cycle bridge is via ramps and stairs at the two ends. The structural system consists of a single-span girder rigidly fixed with compression and tension connections at the northern end with a portal frame construction, and flexibly mounted at the other end. The bridge has a U-shaped cross-section. The trussed girders forming the sides are inclined outwards by 10°. The structure decreases in height from 5 to 2. 70 meters over its length, thereby lending the bridge a dynamic appearance.
