Accommodated behind the partly transparent, partly solid facade infill panels of this steel skeleton-frame structure are the various functions of a lighting design concern. The staircase is set in the space between the loadbearing structure and the outer curtain wall along the street face, which is glazed at this point. Users take delight in moving through a space flooded with natural light, while observers outside can follow the movements up and down the stairs. The form of the staircase was also intended to express a sense of floating lightness in movement and was designed with minimally sized elements as a three-dimensional structural truss.
