Inserted in a gap less than 3 m wide, the structure of this infill block consists of concrete floor slabs cast into pockets cut in the existing party walls on each side. Large areas of glazing allow views through the entire building and create a surprising sense of space internally. The glass is fixed to storey height metal frames let into the side walls and anchored to the floor slabs. The only visible metal members are the secondary angle supports framing the larch doors and windows.
