After undergoing many changes of use, this former Jacobin convent has now been converted to provide civic space for cultural and tourist purposes on the ground floor and offices on the upper three floors. The outer walls were retained, but the interior was gutted. The ground floor cloisters around the courtyard were reconstructed, and the idea was extended to the first floor in the form of a three-storey-high ambulatory, which serves as the main horizontal circulation route. In each of the two wings is an open staircase, set at a slight angle to the orthogonal layout.?
