Factory in Mezzovico, Lugano
The distinct volumes and contrasted materials of this development make its different functions legible. The segmental-shaped office tract is laid out with its long elevation overlooking the river and is attached on its curving rear face to the linear production block. The main circulation routes are accommodated in this carefully designed linking area. The open escape staircases, in a filigree steel construction, are housed in exposed concrete recesses in the south façade, in which they function as articulating elements.
