The restricted landing positions on both banks and the continued access required for boats led to the design of the curving form of this bridge and its swing movement. Spanning a clear width of 34 m, the bridge is designed as an electrically operated, cable-stay, counterweighted swing structure with a mast located on one bank. The deck is cantilevered from a prefabricated section 750 mm deep and 450 mm wide and is supported by six 48 mm dia. rods, with two 75 mm dia. rods forming the backstay tension members.
