Spanning the River Spree at a slight angle, the bridge creates a green link between the inner city and a landscape conservation area in a newer urban development. The rounded extensions in the middle of the bridge are set one step lower than the main strip. A covered area is also planned at the centre. The bridge consists of a series of prefabricated bays 7.22 m long and 4.34 m wide fixed to concrete piles. The piles are encased in stainless steel tubes and surmounted by granite heads.
