Station and Parking Deck in Ismaning
Once a modest suburban station, Ismaning has become an important traffic node as a result of its proximity to the new Munich airport. The railway line was relocated underground, and the two parts of the town were linked by a new landscaped ensemble with kiosks, waiting rooms and WCs, plus a parking deck for 190 vehicles. The main structure consists of a long glazed roof over the bus station and cycle parking area. It also allows light to penetrate to the platform level via openings in the soffit.
